Today I had the biggest win of my tennis life so far – became Tennis Australia ranking Junior Tour “12 and under” boys doubles champion. Thanks to my doubles partner Aarya for being such an awesome and amazing partner. It was one hell of a ride – started with an easy win in the quarterfinals winning the match 6-0 6-4. Semi finals was also a smooth run for us winning it 6-1 6-2. Then had an amazing finals against the number 1 seed doubles players, which went on for 4 hours and 50 minutes and it was a full roller coaster ride – we had an easy win in the first set winning 6-2, we were on a cruise and went on to score 5-1 in the second set; then all of a sudden the whole course changed and the opponents stepped up their game and we lost the next 6 games continuously, losing out the second set 7-5; the match went on to a super tie breaker – We maintained our nerves and went on to win it 10-5 (Yes, eventually came out of my tie breaker jinx ). Playing nearly 5 hours of a match was quite an experience – had the longest rallies of my life and some of the rallies went on for nearly 50 shots. Thanks to everyone at Hume Tennis Centre for organizing such an amazing tournament and staying so late in the night for our match to finish. This brings up the conclusion of this season’s tournaments and I am all set to start with my training from next week. Thanks to all of you for being part of this journey. Onwards and upwards….
